Common Obstacles in the Growth Stage
1. Imbalances in posture
Flat feet, knock knees or bowlegs, and forward-head posture misalign the skeletal axis, resulting in joint pain, an imbalanced physique, and a diminished maximal height potential.
2. Prolonged Stress
Endocrine balance is disrupted, and growth hormone production is slowed because of stress, which elevates cortisol levels. Additionally, it interferes with digestion and sleep, which are both indispensable for growth.
3. Early puberty
Growth plates are closed earlier in premature puberty. The initial growth of children may be rapid, but it ceases prematurely, thereby preventing them from attaining their full height potential.
4. Shorter than their peers
Self-esteem, social engagement, and emotional development can be adversely affected by being shorter, which restricts not only physical but also overall personal development.
